Cremation Services
Cremation is the process of reducing body to bone fragments through the application of intense heat (approximately 1,600
degrees Fahrenheit). These fragments are usually referred to as cremated remains.
North Carolina law requires a waiting period of 24 hours following death for cremation. This period can be waived by
appropriate medical personnel if the death was a result of certain infectious, contagious diseases.
The choice of cremation does not eliminate a funeral. A traditional or contemporary type services often planned to take place
before the cremation process. Mitchell and Fair Funeral Service can provide cremation services to fit your budget and/or
religious and cultural beliefs. A full line of cremation urns are available for selection.
